David Brame on Afrofuturism and comics, November 13, 2020

The role of travel and exploration in creating and developing Afro-futurist comics and how it feels to be an immigrant in the nation he belongs to are among the topics David Brame discusses in this conversation.

David Brame describes himself as proudly Blackity Black, an afrofuturist and scholar. His most recent scholarly creative accomplishments for 2019 and 2020 include Sanford Biggers: CODESWITCH in collaboration with Professor John Jennings, The Bronx Museum and produced by Yale University Press. His scholarly work for young black youth, The Struggle, was produced by Minnesota Press. His forthcoming graphic novel After the Rain, disseminated by ABRAMS/Megascope, adapts Nnedi Okorafor’s short story “On the Road.”
