Open Artist Calls: Visual Arts Exhibits and Artist Residency Program

Bunnell Street Arts Center announces calls for applications for Bunnell’s Visual Arts Exhibit and Alaska AIR Residency Programs for 2023 – 2024. The Application period runs from September 15th – October 31st, 2022. Apply at www.callforentry.org
Visual Arts Exhibits:
Bunnell’s flagship Visual Arts Exhibit program has earned a national profile over 30 years of innovation and excellence. A new exhibit opens the first Friday of every month with a public reception and artist talk. A community tradition, exhibitions promote education and community engagement about Alaska’s artistic heritage and diversity. Solo exhibits nurture and promote Alaska’s mid-career artists and elevate artistic innovation, craftsmanship, and fiscal sustainability for the arts. Learn more here.
Applications from Alaska artists in all media and formats including solo, group and interdisciplinary arts are welcome. Work need not be for sale. The exhibit application must include a cover letter, artist statement, resume and five images of recent work representing the exhibit intention. There is a $25 application fee.
Artist in Residence (AIR):
Bunnell Street Arts Center’s Alaska AIR Artist in Residence program features Alaska, national and international artists for residencies of varying lengths, from one week to one month. Bunnell offers a 1000 square foot studio/gallery space and lodging in a private room with a private bath and living/kitchen area in a private apartment. Learn more here.
Alaska’s AIR is a juried residency award that provides round-trip travel to Homer (up to $1000), and a stipend of $2000 per month. The program seeks artists looking to create new work and deeply engage Bunnell’s community. There is a $25 application fee. Applicants will be notified about the status of their applications by December 31 of the current calendar year.
