Jennifer Fergesen, Artist in Residence, September 7 – 18th, 2021

Jennifer Fergesen is a Filipino American writer working on a project about the confluence of Native and Filipino culture in Alaska. She is the author of The Global Carinderia, an exploration of the Filipino diaspora through its restaurants, which has received awards from the Philippine government, the Food Writers Association of the Philippines and the Philippine American Press Club and is currently a finalist in the International Association of Culinary Professionals Food Writing Awards. She also writes fiction for small presses and literary magazines and has been nominated for the Pushcart Prize, among others. Born in New Jersey, she is based in California and has an MA in Creative Writing from the University of California, Davis. See her work at globalcarinderia.com.
