“During the week of March 25-29, Seward High School hosted its fourth Spoken Word Poetry Workshop. One freshman, a quiet boy, stood at the microphone for a long time in awkward silence. Kima encouraged him, while his class waited. He gained more confidence so that by the end of the week, he stood up and read an entire poem to his class. It was great to see kids emerge fro their comfort zones and participate in such a positive way. Dasha and Kima do a great service to the community by sharing their passion for spoken word with young and old. They certainly have made a massive impact on the community of Seward and are welcome to return any time.”
