Underfoot is about walking. “My dog, Zeke, and I walk every day and in every season though the trails, forests, beaches and back roads around Homer. I’m always watching, camera in hand, waiting for that perfect moment of elemental beauty…grass, rocks, buoys and wood. I love pattern and bold repetition of form. I look for little mysteries, like the secretive curve of fallen grass, and the delicate shadows inside a dandelion puff. In Underfoot, I bear witness to the transformation of the seasons and of my own life. I am an Alaskan artist, inspired by life on Kachemak Bay.” Carla grew up in Homer and earned her BFA from Oregon College of Art and Craft in Portland Oregon.
