Pine cones, buoys, seeds, shells, pods, husks, webs, nets, and intersections: these orbs may remind you of these things or more. Made of wheel-thrown and altered stoneware, reduction fired to cone 10 with food-safe glazes, these 50 or so pieces are a collection of forms that I created to explore clay’s sculptural possibilities. I transformed solid lumps of the same materials in your favorite coffee mug into light, porous, complex, and durable work that reminds everyone of something a little different and entices them to interact with the pieces and the gallery with all of their senses.
