This invitational show challenges romantic views of Alaska with humor, hyperbole, irony and realism. Featured Alaskan artists include Angela Ramirez, Duke Russell, Michael Walsh and Rachel Mulvihill who writes, “The relationships explored in these paintings are rooted in a specificity of place. As an Aleut from Fairbanks, Alaska, my cultural heritage is influenced by this place. National Public Radio and McDonalds have shaped my experience as much as the landscape and Athabascan culture of Interior Alaska.”
