Kaleidoscope School of the Arts and Sciences chose Sankoda Dance Theater to lead an Artist in Schools until from January 14th-18th. This unit included 258 students!
“Each age level learned different things to present at the end of the week showcase, but the common core of the unit was each group learned a song, some drumming techniques and some dancing or movement. Along with this was the information on African culture and language. Students displayed what they learned in an hour performances at the end of the week. It was standing room only in our gym, as parents and community members watched and joined in with singing and clapping to the beat as each grade demonstrated what they had learned.” – Excerpt from the narrative report
