Sara Tabbert Exhibit, June 2017

Artist Talk:

Artist Statement: Passing Through – relief carved and painted wood panels, woodcut prints, collage

“In the last 15 months my art and teaching work has taken me on an exciting ride through a number of varied and contradictory environments. I’ve been making art in locations ranging from the urban Midwest to the Aleutians and many stops between those extremes. I am always up for the challenge of working in new places. It breaks the comfortable rut and forces change and flexibility in my work. These pieces show my connected approach to very different environments, and showcase my ongoing interest in different ways of working with wood and color.”

Sara will be sharing the exhibit space with ceramic sculptor Carla Potter.
